Module 1: Introduction to Emergency Ultrasound
● History and evolution of ultrasound in emergency medicine.
● Basic physics and principles of ultrasound.
Module 2: Lung Ultrasound
● Pneumothorax, pleural effusion, pulmonary edema, aortic dissection, pulmonary embolism, lung consolidation, rib fractures, lung contusion, ARDS, and hemopneumothorax.
Module 3: Cardiac Ultrasound / Echo in Life Support
● Pericardial effusion, cardiac tamponade, atrial clot, pulmonary embolism, cardiac wall abnormalities, parasternal and apical views, cardiomyopathies, heart failure, and valvular dysfunctions.
Module 4: Abdominal Ultrasound
● Abdominal aortic aneurysm, aortic dissection, mesenteric thrombus, appendicitis, gallstones, renal stones, liver abscesses, FAST scans, and pelvic/uterine views.
Module 5: Skin Ultrasound
● Cellulitis, skin abscess, necrotizing fasciitis, and foreign bodies.
Module 6: Ophthalmology Ultrasound
● Foreign bodies, retinal detachment, and raised intracranial pressure.
Module 7: Musculoskeletal Ultrasound
● Muscle tears, tendon injuries, and long bone fractures.
Module 8: Vascular Access and Invasive Procedures
● Peripheral and central vascular access, arterial line insertion, joint effusions, and intra- articular injections.
