Who is it for?
A specialised, hands-on workshop for senior clinicians and SHOs/Registrars to develop advanced leadership skills in high-stakes trauma care. Participants will gain confidence in leading trauma teams, mastering communication, making critical decisions, and managing complex trauma scenarios through practical simulations and case-based exercises.
Performance Aims
Understand key skills for effective leadership under pressure
Evidence critical thinking and structured decision-making in high stakes trauma care
Understand Human factors and team performance in stressful situations and plan and mitigate for such factors
Understand themes of compassionate communication and their application in practice
Apply and evidence a range of practical and theoretical applications via case-based
discussions
Learning Outcomes
This workshop equips participants with advanced skills in trauma leadership, team management, and clinical decision-making. Attendees will enhance situational awareness, master structured communication, optimise team roles, and lead effectively in high-stakes scenarios including paediatric trauma, massive haemorrhage, neuro-resuscitation, and major incidents. The programme also covers safe patient transfers, trauma networks, conflict resolution, and team wellbeing, reinforced through practical simulations and case-based exercises.
